Légendaire groupe punk britannique du début des années 80, BLITZKRIEG est plus que jamais de retour à la vie, avec ce remarquable album, et un nouveau line up comprenant, entre autres, Chris Hind (basse + vocaux), membre fondateur du groupe et ex-MAYHEM (UK Punk), et la charmante Jackie (alias Jax) Chambers, guitariste et également membre du célèbre groupe de Hard Rock féminin GIRLSCHOOL. Le résultat d'une  nouvelle formule telle que celle-ci est véritablement explosif. Non seulement le groupe a su reproduire avec éclat le style, la rage et l'énergie qui le caractérisaient autrefois, mais de plus, une légère touche Hard Rock, apportée par le jeu de guitare de Jax, ajoute désormais au son de leur musique une dose supplémentaire de puissance et d'agressivité. Deux des morceaux, "Bleed and Bleed" et "Destruction 08", sont en fait d'anciennes compositions réenregistrées, et le moins que je puisse dire est que ces nouvelles versions sont au moins aussi bonnes, sinon encore meilleures, que celles d'origine. Tous les autres titres sont de nouvelles compositions, déjà devenues des classiques incontournables du répertoire de BLITZKRIEG, du manifeste rageur "21st Century Punks", aux excellents "We die alone", "What is Truth ?", "Scream it" et "TNT", en passant par le caustique et provocateur  "This is not America". Je les aime toutes, mais je crois que mes trois préférées, sur ce disque, sont sans aucun doute "We die alone", "Destruction 08", et "Bleed and Bleed". De toute façon, l'album tout entier est vraiment très bon et d'une efficacité redoutable, et je vous le recommande donc très fortement. Le seul point que je regrette, c'est une production un peu faible, qui aurait pu être bien meilleure avec davantage de moyens, et si l'album était sorti sur un plus gros label. Néanmoins, ça reste quand même tout à fait correct. Une plus large distribution du disque aurait été la bienvenue aussi, car il n'est hélas pas très facile de le trouver...à moins de s'adresser directement au groupe lui-même, bien sûr. J'attends maintenant impatiemment les prochaines réalisations de BLITZKRIEG, car je suis fan !  Le groupe doit d'ailleurs bientôt enregistrer un nouvel EP, qui sortira sous deux formats différents, un vinyl coloré et un MCD. Après un premier passage remarqué en 2010, BLITZKRIEG jouera de nouveau au Mondo Bizarro de Rennes, le vendredi 23 septembre 2011, cette fois en compagnie des CHARRED HEARTS, autre fameux groupe Punk Rock britannique du début des 80's. Une seconde date exceptionnelle aura lieu le lendemain, samedi 24 septembre 2011, probablement en région parisienne (à confirmer). A ne pas rater !!!

ENGLISH VERSION :
 

Legendary british punk band from the early 80's, BLITZKRIEG is more than never back to life, with this remarkable album, and with a new line up that features, amongst others, Chris Hind (bass + vocals), founder  member of the band and ex-MAYHEM (UK Punk), and the charming Jackie (aka Jax) Chambers, guitar player who is also a member of the famous all-girl band GIRLSCHOOL. The result of such a new formula is genuinely explosive. Not only the band brilliantly managed to reproduce the style, rage and energy from their old days, but also a slight Hard Rock touch, brought by Jax's guitar play, now adds to their sound a supplementary dose of power and aggressiveness. Two of the tracks, "Bleed and Bleed" and "Destruction 08", are in fact re-recorded old compositions, and the least I can say is that these new versions are at least as good as the original ones, if not even better. All the other tracks are new compositions, who have already become true classics in BLITZKRIEG's repertoire, from the "21st Century Punks" raging manifest, to the excellent "We die alone", "What is Truth ?", "Scream it" and "TNT", without forgetting the caustic and defiant "This is not America". I enjoy them all, but I guess my favourite ones are definitely "We die alone", "Destruction 08", and "Bleed and Bleed". The whole album is really very good and of a formidable effectiveness, anyway, and therefore I very strongly recommend it to you. The only point I regret a bit is a production which is a bit weak, and which could have been much better with more financial and technical means, and if the record had been issued by a bigger label. Nevertheless, it remains very acceptable. Also, a larger distribution would have been welcome too, because this record is quite hard to find, sadly...Unless we directly get in touch with the band itself, of course. I'm now waiting impatiently for the next BLITZKRIEG releases to see the light, 'cos I'm a fan !  The band should record a new EP soon, besides. This new EP will be issued under two different forms, a coloured vinyl record and a MCD. Following their first gig in France in 2010, BLITZKRIEG will play again at the "Mondo Bizarro" in Rennes (Brittany, France) on friday 23 september 2011, this time with the CHARRED HEARTS, another famous british punk act from the early 80's. A 2nd exclusive gig should take place the day after, saturday 24 september 2011, probably in Paris or in the parisian suburb (to be confirmed soon). Don't miss them !!!
